C. Honeycutt hideout. The barbeque*. chicken was most delicious and was' prepared by A. C. Garland, W. C. Honeycutt, and E. H Knight. Those present were: Dr. and Mrs. E. K. Brake and children, Toni and Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. James Brittian, Mr. and Mrs. It. M. Crowder, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Free, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Garland, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Knight, / die Rev. and Mrs. Thad McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Nordhielm, and the iloneycutts. ENTERTAIN WITH "COOTY” PARTY Celeste and Borden Sabiston entertained with a “cooty' party at their home on Montreat road last Wednesday night. Following the “cooty” game the guests en joyed dancing and refreshments. Awards for the game went to •Jeri Cabronetti, high; Bobby Blair, second; and Doyle Turner won the booby prize. Others present were: Jack Ed wards, Orieta Hollifield, and Peggy Morrow. MISS WADDELL HONORED WITH SURPRISE SHOWER A surprise miscellaneous shower was given recently for Miss Melba Waddell at Fleetwood apartments. Guests were Mrs. Peggy Laugh ter, Mrs. Georgia Brown, Miss Betty Brown, Mrs. Madelaine Parks, Miss Grace Long, Miss Margie Elledge, Miss Jean Al wran, Miss Sue Wetzeland and Miss Nanette Carter. NELLIE CARROLL WEDS KENNETH J. ALLEN Miss Nellie Carroll, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Carroll of Black Mountain, and Staff Sgt. Kenneth J. Allen were married in a double ring ceremony on June 4 in Leesburg, Ga. Son of Mrs. Mae Calvert of Oteen, Mr. Allen recently enlisted in the army. VICE-PRESIDENT HERE Dade E. Fisher, vice-president of the Black Mountain Freezer Locker co., is here from Macon, Ga., to spend the week with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Sabiston. The retiring president, Mrs. Kim ball Miller, was presented a pin as a token of appreciation of her work during the past two years. Mrs. W. C. Macon was installed as president for the coming year. Mrs. Janie Reid, and Mrs. Joe Giles were introduced as the new | vice-presidents of the club. Visitors at the meeting included Mrs. Ed Crawford of Tampa and Miss Lenore Lula of W ashington, D. C. The hostess was assisted by her two young daughters in serving an ice course during the social hour. New officers of the Old Fort Rotary club, elected at a recent meeting, are J. Murray Mackey, president; H. R. Kerly, vice- pres ident; Albert S. Shiflet, secre tary; Rudolph Reagan, treasurer. Dr. D. M. Mclntosh is the re tiring president. WITH THE SICK Mrs. G. C.
